4. Purpose of the processing of personal data

The purpose of the processing of personal data is in the following reasons:

5. Data content of the register

The register may contain the following data:

• First and last names, address, phone numbers, email addresses

• Veterinary number, year of legalization, veterinary section

• The name and address of a veterinary clinic

• Username and password

• Special interests

• Reference number, special diets

• Possible permits and consents

Member data is collected from:

• From members themselves during registration

• During registrations to seminars and trainings

• From customer surveys

7. Transfer of personal data

Data is not transferred to third parties.

Data is not transferred to third parties outside EU.

9. Protection of the register

b. Electrical data

Only persons who have the right to process memberdata on behalf of their work are entitled to use the system containing member information. Each user has their own username and password for the system. The data is stored in a database and the system is protected by a firewall, password and other technical means. The databases are in locked locations.

10. Data retention period

Finnish Association of Veterinary Practitioners FAVP processes and keeps the data only as long as it is necessary for the purposes of processing data. Personal data that have become unnecessary, are removed at regular basis as by the policies of Finnish Association of Veterinary Practitioners FAVP. After the need to retain the data has ended, the data is retained for a maximum of 12 months. Unnecessary data is erased each year.

11. The rights of data subjects

Data subjects have all the rights stated by regulations to their own data, and to inspect and rectify it.

The right to inspect the data

The data subject has the right to inspect what data concerning them has been recorded in Finnish Association of Veterinary Practitioners FAVP member register. The right to inspect the data is free of charge when done once a year (12 months). The right to inspect the data must be requested by a signed document or in person at the data collector. If the data subject presents the request electronically and has not requested other means of delivery, the data will be provided in generally used electronic forms.

Right to rectification and to restrict processing

The data subject has right to rectificate incorrect, inadequate, unnecessary or outdated data by notifying Finnish Association of Veterinary Practitioners FAVP about the matter. In addition the data subject has in certain situations the right to request restricting the use of personal data.

Right to demand erasure of data or object to the processing of data

The data subject has the right to demand erasure of their personal data by email. The data subject has the right to object to processing or personal data when it is based on legitimate interests. The data subject shall always have the right to object to direct marketing by the link in the end of emails sent by Finnish Association of Veterinary Practitioners FAVP or through marketing consent found at member pages.

Right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority

The data subject shall have the right to lodge a complaint on the processing of personal data with the supervisory authority, which is the Data Protection Ombudsman. All requests shall be delivered to the addresses found in section 1 and 2 in this document.
